Here is my memory!
My first time in Hong Kong was everything I hoped it would be and more. It is one of those cities that feels instantly alive the moment you arrive, with its towering skyline, fast-paced streets, beautiful harbour views, and a mix of modern glamour and everyday local life. I came to Hong Kong earlier this year to catch up with the city, and from the beginning, it felt like a place full of energy, contrast, and unforgettable moments.
During my trip, I explored Tsim Sha Tsui, admired the views of Victoria Harbour, experienced the buzz of Chungking Mansions, joined a boat trip, and took part in a city tour. Each experience showed me a different side of Hong Kong, and together they made my first visit truly special.
Tsim Sha Tsui: A Vibrant Introduction
Tsim Sha Tsui was one of the first areas I explored, and it was the perfect introduction to Hong Kong. The district is lively, busy, and full of movement, with shopping streets, restaurants, and people from all over the world passing through at all hours of the day.
What stood out to me most was how effortlessly Tsim Sha Tsui combines the modern and the scenic. On one hand, it has the energy of a major urban centre, but on the other, it offers easy access to some of the best views in the city. Walking around here gave me my first real sense of Hong Kong’s pace and personality.

Victoria Harbour: A View I’ll Never Forget
Victoria Harbour was very close to where I stayed and was one of the highlights of my trip. Seeing the skyline from the waterfront was unforgettable, especially with the reflections on the water and the constant movement of ferries and boats.
Whether during the day or at night, the harbour looked beautiful in a different way each time. In the daytime, the city felt expansive and clear. At night, everything transformed into a glowing panorama of lights and reflections. It was one of those places that made me pause and just take it all in.
Chungking Mansions: A World of Its Own
Visiting the Chungking Mansions was a completely different experience from the harbourfront, and I also stayed at Chungking. It felt busy, crowded, and slightly overwhelming at first, but also fascinating. The building has a reputation for being one of the most unique places in Hong Kong, and I could see why.
Inside, there was a mix of cultures, food, shops, and people that gave the place an energy all its own. It was chaotic in the best possible way—unpredictable, colourful, and full of life. It felt like stepping into a different world within the city.

Boat Trip: Seeing Hong Kong from the Water
The boat trip gave me a new perspective on Hong Kong. Seeing the city from the water was incredibly relaxing and also impressive, especially with the skyline rising in the distance.
There’s something special about viewing a city like Hong Kong from the harbour. The boats, the buildings, and the open water all came together to create a peaceful yet dramatic experience. It was one of the most enjoyable parts of my trip and a great way to slow down and appreciate the city from a different angle.
City Tour: Learning the City’s Story
The city tour helped bring everything together. It gave me a broader understanding of Hong Kong beyond the famous landmarks and helped me appreciate the city’s history, culture, and everyday rhythm.
Seeing the different areas on a tour made me realise how layered Hong Kong really is. It is not just one type of place—it is a city of contrasts, where tradition and modern life exist side by side. That complexity is part of what makes it so memorable.
Final Thoughts
My first time in Hong Kong was an amazing experience. From the excitement of Tsim Sha Tsui to the beauty of Victoria Harbour, from the intensity of Chungking Mansions to the peaceful boat trip and informative city tour, every moment added something meaningful to the journey.
Hong Kong left a strong impression on me. It is vibrant, dynamic, and full of character, and my first visit gave me a taste of how much there is still to discover. I left with great memories, a deeper appreciation for the city, and a feeling that this would not be my last time there.
