With a sense of adventure in my heart, I boarded a Casino Train bound for the Gold Coast, one of Australia’s most vibrant coastal destinations. As the scenery changed outside my window, I couldn’t help but feel the excitement bubbling within me. From stunning beaches to lush hinterland, the Gold Coast promises an extraordinary experience. Join me as I recount my incredible railway journey and the adventures that awaited me!
Day 1: Arrival and Beach Vibes
Upon arriving at Gold Coast Station, I was greeted by the sounds of the city and the fresh, salty air of the ocean. The perfect blend of adventure and relaxation was just a short train ride away. There were so many beaches to choose from. So I started with the main one the Surfers Paradise.
The Ultimate Beach Experience
I hopped on a nearby tram and headed straight to Surfers Paradise Beach. The golden sandy shores and inviting waves made me thrilled to be here. After settling on the beach, I took a leisurely walk along the coastline, soaking up the sun and taking in the vibrant atmosphere created by fellow beachgoers.

Surfing Lessons
Enticed by the surf culture, I asked a mate for a surfing lesson ( you can find many teachers for reasonable prices here). The friend was enthusiastic and knowledgeable, helping me ride my first wave, which was exhilarating! Standing on the board and gliding over the water gave me an unforgettable thrill.
Evening Bliss at Cavill Avenue
As dusk approached, I made my way to Cavill Avenue, the bustling hub of Surfers Paradise. I enjoyed a delicious dinner at a friend’s beachfront restaurant, indulging in fish and chips paired with a local craft non non-alcoholic beer while watching the sunset paint the sky in shades of orange and pink.
Day 2: Exploring the Hinterland
After beach bliss, I felt it was time to explore the stunning Gold Coast Hinterland. I planned a day trip through public transport, hoping to immerse myself in the natural beauty of the area. By the way public transport was 50 Cents to anywhere near Gold Coast and Brisbane.
Tamborine Mountain
I started my adventure with a bus ride to Tamborine Mountain. The Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk offered mesmerizing views of the ancient rainforest. Walking through the treetops was enchanting, and I spotted various unique birds and wildlife. It felt like stepping into another world!
Winemakers and Cheese
Later, I visited a charming local winery where I sampled exquisite fresh grapes alongside artisanal cheeses. The flavours were incredible, and I could hardly resist picking up a bottle of luscious Shiraz to remember my experience.
Day 3: Theme Park Thrills and Wildlife
No trip to the Gold Coast would be complete without a day of exciting amusement! I took a short train ride to one of the area’s renowned theme parks for a day filled with thrills.
Thrilling Rides
From hair-raising roller coasters to family-friendly attractions, the park had it all. I braved the giant drop, screaming with delight as I soared through the air, and then took a soothing float in the wave pool to cool off.
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary
In the afternoon, I caught a bus to the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. Here, I had the chance to feed kangaroos and even enjoyed holding a koala! Being so close to these unique creatures was a dream come true, leaving me with cherished memories.
Day 4 at the Gold Coast: Relaxation and Reflection
As my trip reached its final day, I decided to unwind and soak in the serene beauty of Burleigh Heads. The tranquillity of this beach offered a perfect counterbalance to the excitement of previous days.
Beachside Yoga
I joined a morning yoga class right on the beach, with waves lapping at the shore. This peaceful practice allowed me to reflect on my adventures and appreciate the stunning surroundings.
Sunset at Burleigh Head National Park
To cap off my trip, I hiked through Burleigh Head National Park, revelling in the panoramic views of the coastline. Watching the sunset from this scenic vantage point was the perfect finale to my Gold Coast journey.
Finally Gold Coast
My adventure to the Gold Coast, travelling by train, was nothing short of magical. From thrilling beach days and exciting theme parks to peaceful moments in nature, this destination has something for everyone. I left with a heart full of joy, unforgettable memories, and a longing to return. If you’re searching for a blend of excitement and relaxation, the Gold Coast should be on your travel list!
